Lt-Gen Theophilus Danjuma Born in 1938 is a retired lieutenant General of the Nigerian Army and was appointed as the Defence Minister During President Olusegun regime.

Danjuma’s net-worth is calculated to be $1.2 billion as of 2019, making him one of the richest in Africa.

As a young soldier, after just serving six years with the army, Danjuma participated in Nigerian Counter-coup of 1966 against Nigeria’s first military head of state with the 4th battalion

Lt-Gen Theophilus Danjuma was Nigeria’s Chief of army staff from July 1975 to October 1979.

He became Nigeria’s Minister of Defence under Former President Olusegun Obasanjo regime, appointed in 1999, till 2013.

Theophilus Danjuma was born on the 9th of December 1938 in Takum, Taraba State Nigeria. He attended St Bartholomew’s Primary School before progressing to Benue Provincial secondary School.

In 1960, Danjuma joined the Nigerian army and rose to become the Chief of army staff in 1975.
