He is a trendy actor in Nollywood. His real name is Babatunde Omidina, and one of the most decorated actors in Nollywood.
Omidina was born on the 22nd of August, 1958, and he is also a comedian. However, many know him as Baba Suwe, and very few know his real name.

He was born on the 22nd of August, 1958, on Lagos Island, Inabere Street, to be precise. He grew up here, but his family originated from the Ikorodu Local Government Area of Lagos State, Nigeria.
He had his primary education at Jamaitul Islamia Primary School in Lagos State, after which he proceeded to Children Boarding School, Osogbo.

After that, he got admitted for his secondary education into Adekanbi Commercial High School in Mile 12, Lagos State, Nigeria. He later registered at Ifeoluwa Grammar School, Osogbo, Osun State.
Acting career
Baba Suwe started acting in 1971 and became very popular after his role in a movie titled Omolasan, a movie produced by Obalende. His popularity hit the roof after his role in yet another movie titled Iru Esin in 1997, a movie produced by Olaiya Igwe.
Over the years, Baba Suwe had featured in so many movies and made several movies of his own.
One other movie that cemented his place among star actors in Nollywood was Baba Jaiye Jaiye, produced by Femi Adebayo and Funke Akindele.
His Family
He was married to Omoladun Omidina. However, she died on the 1st of September 2009. Omoladun Omidina, popularly known as ‘Moladun Kenkelewu, was also a trendy actress when she was alive.
Her death was mysterious and left many people baffled. Baba Suwe had never remarried since then. He has three children, namely: Junior Omidina, Halimat Omidina and Okiki Omidina
Omoladun and Baba Suwe got married in 1995, but the wife had a child before the marriage, named Omolara Kareem.
Omolara accused Baba Suwe of being responsible for her mother’s death, claiming that her mother died consequent of the high blood pressure she got from the constant issues she had with Baba Suwe while alive.

He was accused of pushing hard drugs in 2011 by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) 2011.
The NDLEA took him into custody after claiming that a body scanner detected suspected drugs in his stomach at the Lagos airport on the 12th of October 2011.

However, the NDLEA could not make good its allegation against Baba Suwe even after holding the comic in custody for up to 3 weeks.
He later used NDLEA for defamation of character at the Lagos high court of law. He was, however, awarded the sum of $155,000 by the NDLEA as compensation for the allegation.
