His real name is Chief Adedeji Aderemi. You can call him Baba Olofa or Olofa Ina. He is one of the oldest Nollywood actors and he is a star to be reckoned with in the film circle and contemporary Yoruba theatre.
Olofa Ina was born on the 15th of May, 1950. He is a veteran actor with many years of experience and has featured in so many movies to date.
Early life
As mentioned above, Olofa Ina was born on the 15th of May, 1950. The name of his father is Chief Abdulsalam Aderemi and Madam Aisha Aderemi of Jagun-Olukosi compound in Ede, Osun State.

His birth year was during the time Late Oba John Adetoyese Laoye was the Timi of Ede. Both parents are late, however.
Education
Chief Adedeji Aderemi was enrolled in St Peters Anglican Primary School in 1957 and completed his primary school education in 1962.
He then got admitted into Baptist Secondary Modern School, Ode-Omu, in 1963. He graduated from the school in 1965. Afterward, he got trained as a carpenter at Olukorede Furniture Industry and completed his training in 1970.
He once worked as a Grade II officer at the Ministry of Works and Trasport in Ibadan. For seven years from 1970 to 1977. He then got employment with Daladson Hotel, Ibadan as a Maintenace Officer.
He left that job in 1980 and started acting full-time that same year.
Olofa Ina Biography | Acting career
Olofa Ina started his major acting career in 1980, as mentioned earlier. However, he had formed his acting group several years year earlier. The name of his acting group was Olofa Ina Theatre Group, and it was formed in 1972.
Other talents in that group included Late Oyetunji, Gbolagade Akinpelu, Dasofunjo, and Erinfolami.
He got trained to become a good actor by Late Oyetunji. Olofa Ina Theatre Group made waves in its days.
The group was the pioneer of depicting the lives and times of epic Yoruba histories, especially histories related to ancient Yoruba warlords between the 18th and 19th centuries.
Some of these warlords depicted in their works were:
- Kakanfo Afonja
- Aare Kurunmi of Ijaye
- Ogedengbe Agbogunboro of Ilesha
- Balogun Ibikunle
- Basorun Ogunmola
And so on
The Nigerian Television (NTV), Ibadan even recorded these productions in the 19870s.

The narrations were done by late Dr. Babayemi, a lecturer at the Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan.
Dr. Babayemi later became the Oba Olufi of Gbongan, Osun State. Since he started acting, Chief Adedeji Aderemi had featured in so many movies, and he is still relevant in the Nollywood industry today.
Many aspiring actors in Nollywood see him as an icon of inspiration, and they adopt Chief Adedeji Aderemi as their mentor.
He has equally inspired many individuals to venture into acting. While acting in the Olofa Ina Theatre Group, he was also managing his business on the side.
Olofa Ina’s name belonged to his boss, but Chief Adedeji Aderemi was given the name after taking over the rein of leadership in the group.
Olofa Ina Cause of Death
Chief Adedeji Aderemi’s cause of death or how it happened has not been made public. One of his wives Modinatu Aderemi however during an interview stated that the legendary actor died minutes after he was discharged from the hospital around 7:30pm. She further stated that Olofa Ina was discharged from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife where he was being looked after.
