Deputy Gov. of Ondo State gives Akeredolu ultimatum to hand over power
The deputy governor of Ondo State, Agboola Ajayi, has demanded to take over the government of Ondo state as the acting governor.
Governor of Ondo State, Akeredolu, had revealed on Tuesday that he tested positive for COVID-19.
On Tuesday, Gov. Akeredolu further made it known that he will be managing the affairs of the state from self-isolation.
Ajayi had refused calls to resign from his position as the Deputy Governor of Ondo State after defecting to the opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Barely three weeks ago, gov. Akeredolu ordered the commissioner of police, Ondo state, to stop and detain Ajayi for defecting.
Ajayi’s voice could be heard asking the commissioner of police Ondo state why he was being detained in a video of the incident that has now gone viral.
The Deputy Governor said that the governor is not fit enough to run the state as he is down with COVID-19.
Akeredolu was diagnosed with the deadly disease first, before his wife and security aides tested positive.
