Yemi Eberechi Alade was born in Abia State, Nigeria, on March 13, 1989.
Her parents are James Alade, a former police commissioner, and Helen Uzoma.
Yemi is the fifth of her parents’ seven children. Growing up, she attended Saviour British Primary School before proceeding to Victory Grammer School in Lagos.
She got a Geography degree after completing her tertiary studies at the University of Lagos.

Career
Yemi Alade’s career began in 2009 after winning the Peak Talent Show.
In 2012, the record label Effyzie Music Group signed a contract with her, and she was able to release many of her songs.
Yemi became famous internationally after dropping the massive hit “Johnny” in 2013.
The song topped the majority of the African and UK music charts. During this time, she sang on stage with many top Nigerian stars.
Yemi became more successful after releasing “King Of Queens,” a seventeen-tracked album in 2014.
Later the same year, she released a better version of the album. Then, in 2016, she released another album titled “Mama Africa” and released a deluxe version later.
