His real name is Olaniyi Mikail Afonka, and he was born on the 14th of October 1974. His stage name is Sanyeri, and many people only know him by this name. Sanyeri is a movie producer, an actor, and a comedian.
He is one of the most popular Yoruba actors today in Nollywood. His family originated from Ilorin, Kwara State, as reflected by his name, but are based in Oyo.

Sanyeri Biography | How he began
Sanyeri was born in Oyo Town, Bola Area, to be precise. He is also the first child of his parents. He attended St Michael Primary School, Oke-Ebo in Oyo State, and later proceeded to Durbar Grammar School in Oyo town.

Sanyeri is married with two children. The name of his wife is Hawawu Omolara Afonja and those of his children are Boluwatife Afonja and Olasunkanmi Afonja.
He got married on the 1st of December 2013 at Agidingbi, Lagos. Sanyeri met Omolara in 2004 at the National Theatre, Onikan, Lagos State, during his first movie production, titled Okan Eni.

Series of controversies greeted his wedding ceremony, with many critics saying he used the wedding to raise funds for his personal use. He vehemently denied the allegation, in any case.
While agreeing that he sold Aso Ebi to the wedding guests, he also declared that many people did not show up at the wedding with the Aso Ebi, and they were not penalized for that.
