She came from the Royal Nwaturocha Family from Mbaise local government of Imo State, Nigeria. Her parents have four children, and she is the youngest among them.

Her parents are late, and both were medical practitioners when they were alive. While her father was a doctor, her mother was a nursing officer.

Rita Dominic had her secondary education at the Federal Government College, Ikor Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.
