Ned Nwoko, Regina Daniel’s Husband Removed As PDP Senator-Elect
The husband of a popular young Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels, has been removed as the senator representing Delta North Senatorial district at the Court of Appeal.
The court of appeal took the decision this morning (Thursday) at the Federal High Court in Abuja after revealing that the National Electoral Commission wrongly picked mr. Ned Nwoko.
Court of Appeal reveals;
“As the matter was instituted at the Federal High Court, the case was statute-barred. We set aside the decision of the Federal High Court and strike out the case,”
The court ruled.
INEC withdrew the certificate of return it issued to Mr. Nwoko’s, following the FHC decision.
With the appeal court decision, Mr. Nwaoboshi will now be recognized as the senator-elect for the district.
Messrs Nwoko and Senator Nwaoboshi are both of the PDP and had contested for the party’s ticket at the primaries. The PDP later won the senatorial election in the district with Senator Nwaoboshi as its candidate.
INEC withdrew the certificate issued to Senator Nwaoboshi, After the high court ruled in favor of Mr. Nwoko, a decision reversed today at the appeal court ruling.
Senator Nwaoboshi represented the delta North senatorial district and was arrested by the EFCC operatives 13 months ago on charges relating to fraudulent contracts and corruption.
