Nigerian Singer Naira Marley has been granted bail in the sum ofand two sureties.
Nigerian Singer, Azeez Fashola aka Naira Marley was granted bail today by the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi Lagos.
Presiding over the bail hearing, Justice Nicholas Oweibo listened to the arguments between the defence counsel and the prosecutors.
The prosecutors, led by Rotimi Oyedepo, argued that it is not the temporary release of the singer that matters but the final judgment. urging the court to accelerate the criminal case rather than the bail.

The singer defense counsel Olalekan Ojo (SAN), urged the court to accept the bail application based on the presumption of his innocence in accordance with Section 162 (1).
Justice Nicholas Oweibo however granted bail to the singer in the sum of N2million and two sureties, One of the sureties must be on Grade Level 10 in the Federal or state employment.
The other surety must have a landed property within the court’s jurisdiction.
Naira Marley was arrested with three others on the 10th of May on charges of internet fraud.
Afeez Fashola popularly known as Naira Marley is charged on 11 counts, If found guilty he faces up to 7 years in prison.
The trial has been adjourned to 22, 23 and 24 of October 2019, for accelerated hearing.
