Peter Okoye is also called Mr. P, which is his stage name. He was born on the 18th November 1981 in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria. However, he is an Igbo, a tribe with his family originated from Ifite, Dunu, Anambra State, Nigeria.
He attended St Murrumba Secondary School together with his twin brother, Paul Okoye. The school is situated in Jos, Plateau State.
The two brothers discovered their musical talent while they were students at this school. The two became members of a local music and drama club while in school and gave themselves to practicing and honing their talents.
The twins started their journeys to the limelight by mimicking songs of various American artists, like Michael Jackson, MC Hammer, and Bobby Brown.
Peter Okoye and his brother even confessed that Micheel Jackson remains one of their most significant sources of inspiration.

Later, Peter Okoye and his twin brother formed an acapella group and some of their school friends. They called the name of the group MMMPP, using the first letter of the names of each member of the group.
They were all boys, and Michael Jackson was the inspirational individual they all looked up to.
The two brothers later formed a group called Smooth Criminals, which was a dancing and singing group. Meanwhile, MMMPP was still intact while Smooth Criminals was in operation.
However, a member of MMMPP later left, and the group’s name was changed to MMPP.
The twins grew in popularity in Jos mainly because of their complicated dance routines and artistic talents. As a result, they got invitations from other schools and several other places to perform at events.
Upon graduation from secondary school, the two enrolled in a music school to learn how to play various musical instruments, like bass guitar, rhythm guitar, keyboard, and drums.

However, the two also got admitted in 1999 to study Business Administration at the University of Abuja.
They are great musicians and outstanding dancers, making them forces to reckon with in the Nigerian music industry.
Peter produced several songs and albums with his brother as a member of P-Square. Some of the soundtracks that set them apart were:
