Osinbajo meets Akarigbo and Awujale for consultations on security issues.

The vice president of Nigeria, Prof Osinbajo, is in Ogun state today, for consultations on security issues.

Prof Osinbajo’s visit is to ensure the safety of lives and properties. 

Osinbajo meets Akarigbo and Awujale for consultations on security issues.

He met with two monarchs in Ogun State, the Akarigbo of Remo Land, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi and the Awujale of Ijebu, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona.

He is accompanied by the Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr. Ade Ipaye, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Special Adviser on Political Matters

While with the Akarigbo Of Remo land, Prof Osinbajo said;

“As you know there are many significant security concerns all over the country and of course there are concerns also in the South West.

So I’m here on the instruction of Mr President to consult with Kabiyesi, the Akarigbo of Remoland, Governor Dapo Abiodun and other stakeholders on what could be done to beef up security and also generally to improve the security architecture.

At the moment, Osinbajo is presently at the palace of the Awujale of Ijebu Land with his aides.

This is coming days after the Ooni of Ife warns that the Yorubas are ready to defend themselves.

Ooni said

“I came to speak on behalf of other traditional rulers.

The issue at hand in the South West is real, which is insecurity.

Those of us who live in the remote and rural areas of the South western part of the country are insecure because most of the bushes are occupied by strange people and we have decided to work with the Federal government to fish them (strangers) out.
