Ondo SSG resigns from Akeredolu’s government
The government of Ondo State under Gov. Akeredolu has suffered another set-back today after the resignation of the secretary to the State government, (SSG), Ifedayo Abegunde.
The resignation is coming a few days after the deputy governor of the state, Agboola Ajayi, demanded to take over Ondo state’s government as the acting governor.
Governor of Ondo State, Akeredolu, had revealed on Tuesday that he tested positive for COVID-19.
On Tuesday, Gov. Akeredolu further made it known that he will be managing the affairs of the state from self-isolation.
Barely three weeks ago, gov. Akeredolu ordered the commissioner of police, Ondo state, to stop and detain Ajayi for defecting.
Ajayi’s voice could be heard asking the commissioner of police Ondo state why he was being detained in a video of the incident that has now gone viral.
The Deputy Governor said that the governor is not fit enough to run the state as he is down with COVID-19.
Akeredolu was diagnosed with the deadly disease first, before his wife and security aides tested positive.
The Commissioner for health Ondo State had died from the virus.
