Olamide gained admission to study mass communication at the Tai Solarin University of Education in 2008 after primary and secondary Education in Lagos.

Olamide uses his music to talk about his struggle growing up. He raps in the Yoruba language with a mixture of broken English, making it easier for the indigenous to reflect on his music.
He released his first hit, “Eni Duro,” in 2010 while he was in the university’s second year.The single was successful and received positive reviews.
In 2011, Olamide released his debut studio album “Rapsodi,” The album was released by coded tunes records after signing to the label.
The album has guest appearances from 9ice, Wizkid, ID Cabasa, D’Banj, putting Olamide into the spotlight with great commercial success.
In 2012, Olamide left Coded Tunes and started his label “YBNL Nation.”

Olamide welcomed his first son with his partner on January 30, 2015.

On July 1, 2019, Olamide welcomed his second son Tunrepin Myles with his partner Adebukunmi in the United States of America.
Olamide welcomes his first daughter with Maria Okanrende, a popular On-Air personality on August 16 2019. Her name is revealed as Asaiah Monife Maria.
