Ogun is owing N32.8 billion death benefits and gratuities.
This was revealed in a statement signed by the Permanent secretary, Bureau of Local Government Pensions, Mrs. Irene Kokumo, released by the chief press secretary to the governor, Kunle Somorin on Wednesday.
She said the the debt was piled up under the previous administration.
The statement states that in the pre-1991 category, there are 11,616 retirees the bureau pays monthly salary for.
Between January and June 2019, the bureau said it paid out N4.6 billion monthly pensions.
The statement further said the bureau will priotised pre-1991 retirees as well as officials still in active service.

4 suspected internet fraudsters arrested in Abuja
The Economic and Financial crimes commission (EFCC) has arrested four suspected internet fraudsters.
The suspects identified as Osasu Fred Akioyamen, Oris Kareem, Chukwuemeka Chanimuya, Ehizoghie Egheomwan were arrested at their residence at Plot 1202 News Engineering Estate, Dawaki Abuja.
EFCC said the suspects were arrested after a covert intelligence gathering and surveillance.
Mercedes C350, Laptops and mobile phones were seized from the suspects.
