Mikel Obi will no longer be playing for Nigeria, according to the head coach for the Super Eagles.
Mikel had recently made his 87th cap for Nigeria during a friendly with Zimbabwe in Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.
Speaking to the media after the 1-0 win over Tunisia, Gernot Rohr said he’s already looking for his replacement.
Mikel Obi will no longer play for the Super Eagles.

We have to salute Mikel’s celebrated career, he didn’t play in the qualifiers, but it was good for the team that he is here.
“Now we have to look at others, but we don’t have many midfielders in top clubs.
“We have Semi Ajayi, Iwobi, Etebo, Ndidi. But we have to work hard to find a replacement,” he said.

The 32 years old is the third most capped player for the super eagles.
He missed the African cup of Nations match, including the qualifiers due to injuries.
