Obasanjo Probe: EFCC arrests 4 over $16b power project

The Economic and financial crime commission has arrested two officials of the Niger delta holding company (NDPHC).

The officials arrested are the head of compesation, Eze M. C. Odigbo, and the head of finance, Marvel Emefiele.

The EFCC also took in custody the managing director of Chris Ejik Nigeria Limited, Mr. Christian Ejik Imoka, and the Managing director of Pivot Engineering, Mr. Richard Ayibiowu.

According to reports, the anti graft agency is on the trail of eighteen more suspects.

The anti graft agency is probing the $16 billion power project under former President Obasanjo Administration.

Among the 18 suspects on EFCC trail, includes a former bank chairman, two former governors, and fifteen companies. 

This is coming two weeks after EFCC stormed Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL).

According to reports, EFCC stormed the OOPL on the 8th of August 2019 to question a claim that an official at the presidential library received N50million from Atiku’s son in-law.

Confirming the reports in a statement by the anti graft agency, it states that the EFCC and riot policemen stormed the library and are studying some documents in their possession.

Atiku son in-law is being investigated for 150 million Euro money laundring believed to have been used to influence the 2019 presidential election.
