Nigeria beats Cameroon 3-2 to qualify for the quarter-final

Nigeria and Cameroon went face to face today in the Afcon knockout stage. 

The Super Eagles were left devastated after their match with Madagascar at the group stage

Nigeria suffered a 2-0 defeat to the barea at the 2019 Africa cup of nations in Egypt.

2019 Afcon: Nigeria beats Cameroon 3-2 

The match kicked off at 17:00 local time from the Alexandria Stadium, Egypt.

The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon took control of the game immediately the whistle went off, Bombarding Nigeria’s box with chances.

At the 19th minute, Odion Ighalo put the Super Eagles ahead with a left-footed shot putting the ball at the net’s back. 

The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon equalized at the 41 minutes, by a right footed shot from Stéphane Bahoken.

At the 44th minute, Clinton N’Jie put The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon ahead with a right-footed shot putting the ball at the net’s back. 

The Lions were able to keep the possession at 62 percent, pressurizing Nigeria throughout the first half.

At the 61 minutes, Odion Ighalo net the ball, equalizing for the Super eagles.

Just 5 minutes after Odion Ighalo admirable goal, Alex Iwobi put the super eagles ahead netting the ball with a beautiful shot.

Nigeria clinched their ticket to the quarter-final.

By the end of tonight, Nigeria will know who they will be meeting in their quarter-final.

The winner between Egypt and South Africa will be meeting The Super Eagles at the Quarterfinal in Egypt.
