Mercy Aigbe was born on the 1st of January 1978 in Edo State, Nigeria.
The names of her parents are Pa Aigbe and Mrs. Abisola Grace Owoduuni. She is a native of Benin City, the capital of Edo state.
Mercy Aigbe is the second born of a family of 5 children and later shifted base to Lagos State, where she attended primary school at St Francis Primary School.

She later proceeded to Maryland Comprehensive Secondary School, Ikeja Lagos.
Mercy Aigbe later got admitted into The Polytechnic Ibadan, Oyo State, to study Financial Studies. She left the institution after completing her OND.
Afterward, she proceeded to the University of Lagos to study Theatre Arts, where she graduated in 2001.
Acting career
Mercy Aigbe started her acting career in soap operas, one of which is papa Ajasco, which is a top-rated T.V. drama series. She did not join Nollywood professionally until 2006.
Upon entering Nollywood, she starred in a movie titled Ara, and her role in the film made her very popular. Remi Olupo produced the said movie in Ibadan, Oyo State.
