LASEMA Rolls out new operational strategy for emergencies in Lagos.
The Lagos State Emergency Management (LASEMA) endorsed the establishment of Zonal coordinator positions in three senatorial district.
Speaking to the media on Friday the 28th of June 2019, at the command and control centre Alausa Ikeja, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the chief executive officer of the agency highlight the Emergency Planning process.

The Operational Strategy comprises the key plans for example, the command and control centre, Rescue coordinating centres, and the handling of emergency issues in Lagos West, Lagos East and Lagos central.
According to Dr. Oke-Osanyintolu, The full plans have been agreed by the Lagos State newly appointed zonal coordinators and head of departments and its in consonance with the LASEMA law of Lagos State of 2015.
He said, The Cappa Dispatch Centre in oshodi, Command and control centre in Alausa Ikeja, and the Dispatch centre Onipanu will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer of the Agency for efficient disaster management.
He Added that the zonal rescue coordinating centres will response to emergencies in the Local government area, and have the responsibility of determining the resources required to tackle, and identified the risks.
He further said the coordinators will work with stakeholders, such as The Red Cross, and Local Emergency management committees (LEMC) in ensuring adequate response to emergencies.
