His real name is Bisade Ologunde, and he was born in 1960. He is a noteworthy afrobeat musician, a percussionist, and a songwriter.

Lagbaja Biography | How he started
Lagbaja descended from Odogun Compound, Ijagbo Community in Oyun Local Government of Kwara State. The name Lagbaja means the “faceless one” or “anonymous” in the Yoruba language.
It is consequent to his choice of attire, which includes a mask and clothing covering his entire frame. His music career started in the early part of the 1990s, 1991 to be precise.

He began singing in Lagos, where he formed his music band.
Lagbaja is a self-taught saxophone player and has much experience with percussion instruments, like talking drum and conga.
He is a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University. He released an album in 2000 titled We before Me, via which he preached the importance of honesty among politicians and urged Nigerians to unite.
His backup singer, Ego Ihenacho, shared many of his lyrics and was also a good tenor saxophone player. His music band grew in popularity over time.
They gave a series of performances at the Sea Garden in Lagos and later acquired bookings at the French Institute. The band released its first album in 1992, titled “Color of Rhythm.
He tempted to press his album into a compact disc in 1993 in London, but the British government refused him a work permit. He later had it done in the United States.
Lagbaja’s popularity is not limited to Nigeria. He also worked with several artists from other African countries. For example, two of his songs were recorded in N’Dour’s Xippi studio in Senegal. The project was used for a film documentary by Bassek Bakhobio.
