Dieuson Octave, known professionally by his stage name Kodak Black, was born June 11, 1997, in Pompano Beach, Florida, U.S.
The young singer is also referred to as Bill Kahan BlancoJ-Black. He is the son of a Haitian immigrant, Marcelene Octave, and his mother raised him in a public housing project known as Golden Acres.
Kodak Black started his music from an early age; while in elementary school, he would go to local trap houses to record music. He later changed his be to Bill Kahan Kapri.

In other to increase his vocabulary while rapping, Kodak would read the thesauruses and dictionaries. Unfortunately, he was a troubled child, who got into much trouble while growing up, and this habit hasn’t changed with age.

In his fifth grade, Kodak was expelled from school for fighting, and while in middle school, he was arrested for auto theft.

Kodak’s Black music career began officially after joining the rap group “Brutal Youngnz” in 2009.

Finally, in 2015, his third mixtape, “Institution,” was released.
Kodak got popular in October 2015 after the famous rapper and singer Drake posted a video of himself dancing to one of Kodak Black’s songs, “Skrt.”

The “Dying to Live” album was recorded as a success. It was on the Billboard 200 chart for 15 weeks, peaking at No.1 in one of those weeks.
The album also l featured a collaboration with top rappers, the likes of Travis Scott, Juice WRLD, Offset, among others.
His third album happened on November 11, 2020, while serving in prison; the album was titled “Bill Isreal.” Kodak was released from prison based on a pardon from former U.S. President Donald Trump.
