Keffi Prison disorder was full-scale riot, but under control says officer
There was disturbances in Keffi prison today that involved atleast 50 prisoners.
The riot was over the poor feeding and lack of facilities according to reports.
The officers brought the situation under control shortly after it erupted.
It was gathered that the inmates in the prison lack access to proper medical facilities, and are only given one sachet of pure water each a day for breakfast.
The prison is said to be overcrowded, and there was no way any of the prisoners could sleep as there are no space.
Meanwhile the public relations officer of Nasarawa state command of the Nigerian prison service, Mr. Abene Stephen confirmed the incident.
He said the situation is now under control.
