Kanu Nwankwo has been appointed as the Senior Special Assistant on sports matter to the Imo state governor.

The governor of Imo State, Chukwuemeka Ihedioha, unveiled this yesterday the 14th of August 2019.

Who Is Kanu Nwankwo?

Kanu is a retired Nigerian national team footballer and former captain of the team.

He has won two African players of the year awards the Olympic Gold, Premier League, and UEFA Champions League.

The 46 years old father of three popularly known as Papilio was born in Owerri, Imo state.

Kanu started Kanu’s heart foundation after having a heart defect at the prime of his career.

The organization helps young African children with heart problems.
