FG plans a new policy banning ownership of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Cylinders from consumers. The minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr Ibe Kachikwu said the new policy means that the consumers of the cylinders will rest between the dealers and distributors.
He said an agreement has already been reached between FG (Federal Government) and two major cylinder manufacturers to supply 600,000 cylinders to major distributors of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in Nigeria on finance for 18 months.
While revealing this at the stakeholder’s forum on the implementation of the micro-distribution system to boost liquefied petroleum gas in Abuja, the head of Gas, Abuja Zone of DPR, Mr Umar Gwandu said his department is working with Nigerian Security and civil defence corps (NSCDC), to monitor and clampdown illegal roadside sellers of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in Nigeria.
