Federal High Court Remands 9 Yahoo Boys to prison custody in Ekiti
The Federal High court sitting in Ekiti has remanded nine yahoo boys to Prison custody on fraud charges
The boys identified as Charles Ilesanmi Omobolade, Adeyeye Rasheed, Adebola Kazeem Adeyemi, Jejelowo Blessing, Adesola Abiodun, Quadri Adewale Ayuba, Raphael Sunday, Omoniyi Ifeoluwas Ajayi were indicted in fraud related offences including cyber fraud popularly known as Yahoo Yahoo.
In a statement released by the EFCC;
It sates that the boys were charged for sundry internet related offences including obtaining money by false pretense, impersonation.
The EFCC disclosed that the suspects were arrested in a raid by the anti graft agency on July 8, 2018.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against them.
The EFCC legal team led by Dr Ben Ubi urged the for them to be remanded until their trial.
The court granted and remanded the suspects to Prison custody.
The trial dates set for the suspects are September 23, 2019 for the trial of Jejelowo Blessing, Charles Ilesanmi Omobolade and Adelanke Adesola Abiodun cases.
While September 25, 2019 is set for trial dates for Jejelowo Samson Olanrewaju, Quadri Adewale Ayuba, Rapheal Sunday, Omoniyi Ifeoluwa Ajayi, Adebola Kazeem Adeyemi and Adeyeye
