EFCC arrests a lady on FBI wanted list in Edo
Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) announced a lady’s arrest among the suspects wanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
According to the EFCC, The lady was alleged to have been involved in online fraud, obtaining and stealing people’s identification information for fraudulent purposes.
It was alleged that the lady conspires with suspected American based fraudsters to use the information to file for the fraudulent tax return with the internal revenue service.
EFCC further said the suspected lady received her share in the fraudulent activities through Bitcoin.
185 Bitcoin worth N656million was traced to her.
EFCC also announced the arrest of two suspects involved in Business email compromise (BEC).
The two suspects are siblings engaged in searching for individual or business email Addresses to defraud unsuspecting victims through phishing.

U.S. court grants one of the 77 Nigerians arrested by the FBI $75,000 bail
Ifeanyi Agwuegbo allegedly involved in business email compromise, (BEC), was granted bail by a Texas court on the 27th of August 2019.
He was told to cough up a $75,000 bond needed for his release by an American magistrate court.
He is also required to produce a surety before he could be released.
The FBI announced two weeks ago about the arrest of 80 people in the U.S., 77 of which are Nigerians.
They were indicted on a 252 count of Identity theft, Money laundering, Internet fraud, etc.
The prosecutors said millions of dollars were taken from victims through internet frauds.
