DJ Khaled was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, U.S., on November 26, 1975, to Palestinian parents who immigrated to the United States.
He attended Dr.Phillips High School, Orlando. Khaled describes himself as a devout Muslim; his parents played Arabic music a lot while growing up.
It led to him developing an interest in soul and rap music at a young age. His parents were very supportive of his appeal.
Khaled worked in a local Merry-Go-Round record store, which helped lay a foundation for his music.

Khaled first gained prominence in the 1990s as a radio host on 99 Jams and worked with Terror Squad in their live performances as a D.J.
In 2006, he released his first studio album, Listennn. The album earned a gold certificate, due to its success, Khaled followed it up with a second album, “We the Best,” in 2007.
Subsequent albums followed in 2008 and 2010, titled “We Global” and “Victory,” respectively; they were released under the record label he founded known as “We the Best Music Group.”
Both albums were a huge success, charting in the top ten on the U.S. Billboard 200, while the single “All I Do Is Win” from the Victory album was certified triple platinum.
Dj Khaled released his fifth album, “We The Best Forever,” in 2011. Like the previous albums, his fifth album experienced similar commercial success, giving him international prominence.
His sixth and seventh albums were equally a success. The albums titled “Kiss the Ring” (2012) and “Suffering from Success” (2013) soon charted the top ten on the Billboard 200, same as his eighth album released in 2015 titled “I Changed a Lot,” which peaked at number 12 on the chart.
Khaled’s ninth studio album “Major Key,” released in 2016, was recorded as a huge commercial success.
It was number one on the Billboard 200, which led to it being certified gold and receiving a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album.
“I’m the One” and “Wild Thoughts,” two singles from his tenth studio album “Grateful” released in 2017, charted at number one and two respectively on the Billboard Hot 100.
The album was successful as the previous ones, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, and was certified platinum.
DJ Khaled’s eleventh album was named after his son, Asahd. The “Father of Asahd” album was released in 2019; one of the singles, “Higher,” won Best Rap/Sung Performance at the 62 Annual Grammy Awards.
It marked Khaled’s first Grammy Awards win. On April 30, 2021, “Khaled Khaled” was released; this was his twelfth studio album named after himself.
