Court grants former AGF Adoke N50m bail

The FCT high court in Gwagwalada has granted former Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) Mohammed Adoke N50 million bail.

The Court also ordered the former AGF to produce one surety.

Presiding over the bail hearing, Justice Abubakar Idris granted bail to the second defendant, Abubakar Aliyu, in the sum of N50 million with one surety and the third defendant, Rasky Gbinige in the sum of N10 million.

The judge ordered the defendants that their sureties must have landed properties in Abuja and must be resident of Abuja

The case adjourned to March 26 and 27th for hearing.

Adoke was arrested by the Economic and financial crime commission (EFCC), at the airport on the 19th of December 2019.

According to reports, Adoke was arrested on arrival into the country from Dubai.

The anti-graft agency is investigating the former Minister of justice over his role in the sale of Malabu oil in 2011.

 He was detained by the Interpol upon his arrival in Dubai back in November.

Adoke departed Dubai to Nigeria upon his release by the Interpol after five weeks in detention.
