Breaking: Tribunal sacked Orji Kalu as Abia North Senator
The senator representing Abia North, Kalu, has been sacked by a tribunal in Abia.
Orji Kalu of the All Progressive Congress was declared the winner of the February 23 National Assembly poll.
He defeated Sen Mao Ohuabunwa with close to 10 thousand votes different, having polled 30,203.
However, the tribunal nullifies his election this evening.
Facts about Orji Kalu
Kalu is an entrepreneur and politician; he was the governor of Abia state from 1999 to 2007.
He is the chairman of two media companies in Nigeria, the Daily Sun, and the New Telegraph.
Apart from his investment in Media, Kalu also invested in Real estate, Oil and gas.

In 2007, Kalu was charged on a 30 count charge, including N7.65 billion money laundering.
The EFCC alleged that he committed the offense while he was in public office.
He was indicted with his former commissioner of Finance, Ude Udeogo, and Slok Nigeria Limited.
Kalu was on Forbes 2015 Africa’s 50 richest. According to the list, The 59-year-Old net worth was $330 million
Meanwhile, in 2014, Forbes listed Kalu’s net-worth as $1billion.
