The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has called the Governors of Oyo and the Osun States to announce a state of emergency on Ladoke Akintola University, (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso.

Addressing the media, Dr. Ade Adejumo, the Ibadan Zonal Coordinator of ASUU and the Chairman of the LAUTECH chapter of the union, Dr. Biodun Olaniran said the University is not well funded and abandoned due to ownership dispute between the two states.

He appealed to the outgoing governors not to politicise the situation but also pay all outstanding debts before leaving the office. The Government allegedly owed the staff of the university 10 months salary

Adejumo and Olaniran said LAUTECH does not have the necessary condition of service for the staff calling the governors of Oyo and Osun states to allocate more funds into the institution to avoid any looming crisis.
