It’s not unusual to see two actors who loathe each other but are forced to act as lovers on screen.
For whatever reason, some actors asked to play lovers in a movie refused to make the romantic scene look natural due to their dislike of their co-star or other reason.
One will think that every actor goes “all professional” on set no matter their co-actor, but as shown below, that’s not the case.
The following actors refused to kiss their on-screen love interest for personal reasons.

- Alyson Hannigan And Jason Segel: How I Met Your Mother
Both actors acted as a couple in the series “How I Met Your Mother” for nine seasons, but contrary to popular belief, actress Hannigan refused to kiss Segel.

The actor was a smoker, and Hannigan couldn’t handle the smell of cigarette smoke, so the kiss would never happen.
As a result, the actors kissed less than the scriptwriters had included.

Lindsay Lohan, while acting in “Scary Movie 5,” refused to kiss actor Charlie Sheen because she was afraid of catching something from him.
Lindsay claimed Charlie Sheen had a notorious party boy attitude, and she was hesitant to kiss him more than once.
So instead, she requested that the screenplay be adjusted so that it won’t require kiss scenes, but rather, a body double was brought in who acted those scenes with the actor.

Julia despised Nolte’s machismo on location, and he hated Julia’s attitude, so working together as lovers in “I Love Trouble” was very difficult.
The two lead actors couldn’t be on the same set without their tempers rising, and the producer had to utilize body doubles for most of the scenes.

Even though they acted as a married couple in the sitcom Martins, Tisha Campbell refused to work with Lawrence after learning that he had allegedly threatened and mistreated his wife and kids.
Although they had the drama’s final season to shoot, Tisha was not ready to change her mind.

Due to his religious beliefs, actor Neal McDonough refused to shoot a love scene with actress Virginia Madsen on “Scoundrels.”
According to the actor, he is a devout Catholic who is also married; hence, he cannot film such scenes. Not just in the ” Scoundrel,” Neal has been known to turn down movie offers due to this reason.
