Aston’s love for music and dance began as a child, as he would often go for auditions; on one of such occasions, he met his future band member, Marvin Humes.

Aston Merrygold’s journey into stardom began in 2002, after he participated in “Stars in Their Eyes,” at the competition, he sang “Rockin’ Robin,” however finished at second place.
Shortly after, he got a job in Pop Star Studios in Fletton Peterborough as an entertainer, a position he eventually left in other to pursue a musical career.
After graduating from school in 2004, he landed a role in the ITV children’s program “Fun Song Factor.” Subsequently, he was encouraged by Mavin Humes to audition to become a member of “UFO,” which was later renamed “JLS,” which he did and became a part of the boy band group.

After the show, the group JLS was signed to Epic Records, under which four of their albums: JLS, Otta This World, Jukebox, and Evolution, were released.
They also appeared in the film “JLS: Eyes Wide Open.”
In 2012, Aston was made a judge on the fourth series of “Got to Dance,” a dance talent show. In 2013, the group JLS got disbanded, each member going after a solo career.

Soon after the disbandment group, Aston got signed with Warner Bros, where he released his debut single “Get Stupid” and later, an EP titled “Precious.”
His next single, “Turdy,” was released on May 5, 2017. In August 2017, Aston participated in the dance competition show “Strictly Come Dancing”; he appeared in the fifteenth series of the show, alongside Janette Manrara as his partner.
Together they made it to the seventh week of the competition before losing to Mollie King and AJ Pritchard.
In 2019, he landed a role as Jordan in the CBBC series “Almost Never.” His most recent work involves participating in the 2020-2021 singing series “The Mask Singer” as Robin; he finished third place on the show.
