His real name is Alexander Abolore Adegbola Akande, and he was born on the 17th January 1980. He is a Nigerian music artist, dancer, and songwriter.
He is one of the most notable Nigerian musicians, and the way he uses the Yoruba language in his music further makes him outstanding.

9ice came from a polygamous family. His father has five wives and nine children. His family is based in Ogbomosho, Oyo State, Nigeria, which is where 9ice was born.

He, however, migrated to Lagos, where he grew up in the Shomolu Bariga suburbs. His dream to become a musician started while he was young. His first attempt at music was when he was 14 years old.
As his good fortune would have it, his parents supported his dream of becoming a musician after noticing that he has the talent.
9ice Biography | Music career
The first demo ever recorded by 9ice was done in 1996 and titled Risi de Alagbaja. On the other hand, his first official solo song was released in 2000 and titled Little Money.
Then he released his song titled Gongo A So in 2008. This song was so popular that it shot him into the limelight.
Following the song’s release, 9ice was invited to London to perform at the Nelson Mandela 90th Birthday Tribute in June 2008.
He even won the Best Hip Hop Artists of the year at the MTV Africa Music Awards. This same song won him up to four additional awards at the Hip Hop World Awards held in 2009 at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
