35th CONVOCATION : UNILORIN Celebrates in Style
University of Ilorin this week held its 35 convocation ceremony on tuesday 23/10/19 with 130 students of the first degree programme graduating with first class honours.
Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Sulyman Abdulkareem, at a press conference on Monday, said the total number of the students of the first degree programme and diploma graduating is 10,299.
Abdulkareem explained that 2,902 of the graduating students bagged Second Class Upper Division while 5,661 would graduate with Second Class Lower Division.

He said while 1,392 earned Third Class and 31 to go with Pass, there are 76 MBBS graduating students 48 in Nursing, 33 in Pharmacy and 16 in Veterinary Medicine aside 10 who would obtain Diploma from the Institute of Education.
The Vice Chancellor disclosed that there is a total number of 1, 710 higher degrees to be awarded, making the total number of of first degree, diploma and higher degrees to be 12,009.
He explained that the 1,710 students for higher degree awards comprise 155 of Postgraduate Diplomas, 929 of Masters from various faculties, 384 of MBA/MPA/MILR/MGIS/MPH/MHPM and 242 of PhDs.
He said the ground finale of the convocation programme, which is for the 2018/2019 academic session, would hold on Wednesday where the graduating students would be conferred with their respective award of degrees after which the guest of the University, President Muhammadu Buhari, would commission some projects recently completed by management of the school.
Abdulkareem disclosed that during the 2018/2019 academic session, 19 research discoveries in different fields were accomplished by numerous lecturers and an undergraduate student of the institution.
