When the airway is narrow and swollen, individuals with Asthma can experience cold symptoms such as sore throat, nasal congestion and running nose. Other symptoms include:

  • Cough, Wheezing
  • Chest tightness
  • Shortness of breath, difficulty breathing.

Asthma is caused by inflammation in the airways . It has no cure but can be managed through treatments. Keeping track to what flares up your symptoms is important in managing it.

What are the triggers ?

The symptoms varies, the episodes could range from mild to severe. The sudden severe symptoms of asthma is called an asthma attack.

Asthma symptoms are sometimes triggered through certain circumstances, for example, an attack could be triggered by airborne substances like chemical exposure. Some other symptoms occurs during or after exercise.

  • Family history – It could run in the family 
  • Cigarette Smoke – The chances of you developing asthma increases if you smoke, or through secondhand smoke exposure.
  • Obesity – Being overweight increases your risk in developing asthma.
