Sanusi to be released from confinement after court order
The former Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido will be released from confinement after taking the matter to court.
Sanusi had challenged his confinement at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The dethroned Emir was confined in a two bedroom apartment in Awe after his dethronement on the 9th of March.
Presiding over the case, Justice Anwuili Chikere ordered theInspector general of police, Director general of the Department of State Service, and the attorney general of the federation to immediately release the former Emir from confinement.
The case adjourned to March 26 for further hearing.
Sanusi was dethroned for disrespecting Gov. Ganduje.
In a statement released by the Secretary to the state government, Usman Alhaji.
He said Sanusi was dethroned for disrespecting a lawful instruction from the state governor.
