Shehu Sani granted N10m bail

The former senator representing Kaduna central has been granted bail by the Federal high court in Abuja.

Presiding over the bail hearing, Justice Inyang Ekwo granted the former senator bail in the sum of N10million.Shehu Sani was arrested in December 2019.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned Sani on a two counts of bribery and advance fee fraud.

It was alleged that Sani collected $25,000 under false pretence on November 20 2019.According to reports, Sani collected $15,000 from one Sani Dauda to influence some pending cases against Dauda.

$10,000 was also allegedly collected from Dauda to bribe the EFCC acting chairman.

The former lawmaker pleaded non guilty to the charges.The trial is adjourned till February 24 2020
