MATCH REPORT: NORWICH CITY COMFORTABLY BEATEN IN 5-1 VILLA DEFEAT

Norwich City were convincingly beaten at home as fellow promoted side Aston Villa put five past them on Saturday.

Wesley scored twice as Aston Villa earned their first away win of the Premier League campaign with a 5-1 success at Norwich City.

Villa broke the deadlock after 14 minutes when Wesley shot past Michael McGovern following Anwar El Ghazi’s clipped cross.

The lead was doubled 16 minutes later as Conor Hourihane squared for Wesley to tap in.

Wesley was denied his hat-trick before half-time after his penalty was saved by McGovern.

Jack Grealish made it 3-0 four minutes after half-time when he played a one-two with El Ghazi before firing low into the bottom corner.

Hourihane added a fourth on the hour mark before substitute Douglas Luiz curled in a spectacular fifth from long range on 83 minutes.

Josip Drmic scored a late consolation, but Villa move up to 14th place with eight points, two ahead of Norwich, who drop to 18th on six points.
