El-Zakzaky, IMN leader arrives in India with his wife
The leader of the Islamic movement in Nigeria (IMN) has arrived in India.
He left Nigeria for India last night around 18:00 where he had a stopover in Dubai.
El- ZakZaky and his wife, Zinat was granted bail on the 5th of August 2019 by Kaduna High court on medical ground.
Presiding over the bail hearing, Justice Darius Khobo said he must return immediately after treatment to face charges levelled against him.
How did it get here?
SHEIKH ZAKZAKY is the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria(IMN), known as Shi’ite.
He was Arrested by the Nigerian Army in his house on the 13th of December 2015.
During the arrest, Zakzaky’s son, Sayyid Aliyu and many members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) were killed, according to reports.
The Nigerian army said he was arrested in response to an assassination attempt by his followers on the Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Tukur Buratai.
During the Pro-Palestinian rally in July 2015, 34 protesters were reportedly killed by the Nigerian soldiers, three undergraduate sons of Zakzaky were among those killed.
The Nigerian army said the motorcade transporting Lt General Tukur Buratai was blocked by members of Shi’ite before troops responded with force.
