Nigerian Airforce Officer gets double promotion for returning lost 37,000 Euros
Bashir Umar, a Nigerian Airforce officer has received commendation and double promotion for returning 37,000 Euros in cash to the owner.
The airforce said he was on a routine patrol when he found the lost parcel with the money in Kano.
The Aircraft-man found a telephone number found on the parcel which was used to contact the owner.
Yesterday the 25th of July 2019, Umar received a letter of commendation from Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, the chief of the Air Staff (CAS), at the headquarter of the Nigerian Airforce in Abuja.
He received double promotion and decorated with his new rank of Corporal.
During the Decoration ceremony, Air Marshall Sadique Abubakar said;
I am proud to say that we have found in ACM Bashir the rare qualities we stand for in the Nigerian Air Force.
“The special promotion of ACM Bashir to the rank of Corporal today apart from serving as a reward for good conduct is also to serve as motivation to other airmen/airwomen to aspire for such elevation.
ACM Bashir earned the rank of Corporal by good conduct and as part of the desire to reward uncommon good deeds and excellence, he is being decorated in front of his friends, peers and family.
