You lack powers to take over state Assembly – Obaseki replies house of reps
In a Statement released by the secretary of Edo State government, Osarodion Ogie Esq. said the constitution doesn’t give any power to the house of Rep to shut down a state assembly.
The statement further said that there is no where in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria where the house of Rep is granted the power to close down a state house of assembly.
Ogie further said, those in position of authority in Abuja are influencing the house of Representative to take note that the good people of Edo will ultimately ask for the accountability of their actions.
The house of rep yesterday asked edo state government to issue a fresh proclamation to convene the 9th Assembly within one week in line with section 105 (3) of the constitution.
