Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy banned indefinitely from future Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and all award they won at the 20th edition of the prestigious awards night stripped off.
During the Award night Shatta Wale stormed the stage with his thugs when Stonebwoy was announced as the winner of the reggae dancehall artiste of the year category.
The disruption made the organisers cancelled calling the Artiste of the Year and Song of the Year award.
A day after, the host of the show, Kwami Sefa Kayi, said one of the award was won by Shatta Wale and the other by Stonebwoy.
It was further revealed that Stonebwoy won the Artiste of the Year award and Shatta Wale won the Song of the Year.
Stonebwoy won the Dancehall Artiste of the Year while Shatta Wale’s “Gringo” won the Dancehall Song of the Year. His “My Level” song also won Highlife Song of the Year at the VGMA, he said.
Both Shatta and Stonebwoy were charged to court for offensive conduct conducive to breach of peace and display of a firearm in public without permission, after the incident at the VGMA.
Presiding over the case, Justice Isaac Addo granted the two bail at the cost of GHc 50,000 with one surety each. The case is adjourned to June 20, 2019.
