CharterHouse Ghana, the organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, said the security protocols at the awards night was “adequate”.

Theresa Ayoade of CharterHouse said In an interview on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show that “All the nominees were supposed to sit at a designated area, But Shatta Wale refused to sit there and we couldn’t control him.”

He gave up his seat within the designated area for the nominees to his father who sat between rising star Kuami Eugene and high life musician Amakye Dede.

Charterhouse CEO Theresa Ayoade said she’s very disappointed, “We were really expecting it to end on a high note,”

Charterhouse programs have gone ahead without incidents of violence and there was the expectation that last Saturday’s event was not going to depart from the trend.

The security protocols involved the use of body scanners and handheld scanners, she said but conceded “perhaps we were not able to scan every single person.”

Ghanaian reggae artiste, Née Abubakar Ahmed popularly known as Blakk Rasta also said Dancehall Artiste Emmanuel Andrews Samini a.k.a Samini was robbed of the ‘Artiste of the Decade’ award at the just concluded Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs).

He said Samini has been on the scene long before Sarkodie and deserved artiste in the artiste of the decade category which Sarkodie won.
